Angelica Panganiban recently became the latest Asian celebrity to have been scolded by the Italian police for sitting on the historical ground known as the Spanish Steps.
As reported on Inquirer, the actress shared the incident on social media with a photo of her sitting on the steps just before she was chastised for it.
She wrote, "For almost 28 years, I have been in front of the audience. I know what it's like to be judged, and how people watched your every step, how to speak and fight for yourself. For sitting on the Spanish Steps... I was judged."
"Sitting is not allowed here. Sorry to the police," she added.
It is noted that the Italian government implemented the new rule to ensure the protection of its monuments. One can be fined up to P22,6000 if caught sitting on the said steps, though the police would only warn tourists most of the time.
Back in September, singer Jimmy Lin apologised after his wife shared a photo of her sitting on the same steps.

“I think people think it’s weird that they see me crossing the world… I was just going from one meeting to another,” he quipped.
“When I saw the video, I was like… ‘Why this has so many views? I’m just walking across the street.’ It makes me think what else can I do with that many views,” he added.”
When asked if he is aware of how prominent he has become, James expressed that he just needs to accept the reality that he is a public figure.
He also aired his honest thoughts about people requesting photos with him whenever he and his girlfriend Nadine Lustre go out for a date.
“On a regular day, I don’t think about that kind of thing… It’s something you just have to accept… In this industry, people know who I am, either you let it get to you and bother you… or you accept it…” he stressed.
“It’s fine with me [to be asked for a photo] as long as they ask properly. You just have to accept that it’s really like that…” he added.

Alexandra Nicole Barretto or Cole for short is the only daughter of JJ Barretto and Marichi Ramos. She recently turned 26 last June 7.
Nicole is also the eldest among her four siblings; Anton, Andrei, and MJ Barretto.
She has a son with Marvin Paolo Magno named, Marcus Magno.
Furthermore, Nicole is a licensed optometrist and graduated from Centro Escolar University back in 2018.
Aside from this, she was also part of Dani Barretto’s entourage during her wedding. Nicole served as a bridesmaid alongside Claudia Barretto, Bela Padilla, and Erich Gonzales.

President Rodrigo Duterte and those who went with him last week to the wake of Miguel Barretto, father of actresses Gretchen, Marjorie, and Claudine were shocked over the altercation that erupted among the family members.
“Na-shock kami nung nakita namin,” Go told reporters.
He said Marjorie apologized to Duterte, who was secured to safety by the members of the Presidential Security Group.
Go said despite the incident, Duterte still tried to mediate.
“Dun ka po bilib kay Pangulo talagang gusto nya magkabati ang pamilya lalo na in respect sa harapan ng kanilang tatay, napakamalunay ng Pangulo," Go said.

On October 9, a Taiwanese tourist was arrested and fined after showing what was deemed to be too much skin at a Philippines beach.
According to the state-run Philippines News Agency (PNA), the 26-year-old woman, who was visiting Boracay with her boyfriend, was wearing a string bikini that was considered to be so revealing that hotel staff warned her not to leave wearing it. Boracay Inter-Agency Management and Rehabilitation Group chief Natividad Bernardino told PNA that the couple responded that the outfit "was a form of art," and quite ordinary where they are from.
The Philippines, however, have different cultural norms, and the outfit reportedly went viral when concerned local residents uploaded pictures of it to social media.
Speaking of the tourist and her boyfriend, police chief Jess Baylon told PNA that "their customs and traditions are not the same in our country. They have to respect our culture and tradition, and our proper decorum." Baylon told the news agency that the tourist was fined around $48 (PHP2,500) for what she termed as a "display of the erotic and lewd picture."
"We have our own cultural values as Filipinos and Asians," Bernardino said. "They should be able to respect that."
In August, a travel blogger from London was arrested at the Acropolis of Athens, Greece. Adebola Sowemimo told the Sun that guards deemed her white dress inappropriate.
"I saw other women dressed in much more revealing clothing than I was and they were not targeted," she told the Sun, adding: "I could only assume it was because of the colour of my skin." According to the Sun, she was cleared of sexual indecency in court the next day.
In 2017, male tourists were arrested in Kazakhstan for wearing mankinis, a barely-there outfit made popular by the movie "Borat," in which Sacha Baron Cohen plays a fictional Kazakh TV host who wears one.
The BBC reported that six Czech tourists were posing for pictures in Astana, the country's capital, donning the sheer outfits when they were arrested and fined around $67 for their "indecent appearances."
Similarly, 17 British men were fined in Greece after dressing like nuns in 2009. Apprehended on charges of "scandal and misrepresentation of a costume or uniform," according to the BBC report, they spent the night in a Crete jail cell wearing the offending outfits, before charges against them were dropped the next day.

The apparent suicide of singer and actress Sulli this week has shone new light on the pressure faced by South Korea's young 'K-pop' stars. Tabloids and gossip television drive a culture of constant scrutiny.
South Korean media has devoted pages of newspapers and hours of lurid television coverage to the apparent suicide of pop star and actress Sulli on Monday, with anonymous posters using online message boards to exchange accusations of blame and repeat unsubstantiated rumors.
Some critics believe a media culture that is quick to build up the next rising star, and is equally fast to knock them down again, bears at least some responsibility for the death of 25-year-old Sulli and a number of other "idols" over the last decade.
"There have been a series of high-profile suicides in the last few years of people who are stars of the pop or television scenes. Their suicides have inevitably each time become topics of interest in and of themselves," said Emanuel Pastreich, director of the Seoul-based Asia Society. "It is almost as if these deaths are 'part of the show' and are reported as such."
Sulli, whose real name was Choi Jin-ri, first appeared as an actress at the age of 10 before making her debut as a K-pop singer with the all-girl group f(x) in 2009.
Throughout her career, Sulli's personal life provided fodder for the tabloids and she suspended all appearances in 2014 after becoming the target of malicious online rumors and allegations.
She later returned to acting and recently appeared on a television program to describe the abuse that she had been subject to from anonymous posters on web sites. That appearance only appears to have worsened the attacks.
Sulli is far from the first South Korean starlet to take their lives as a result of the pressure heaped upon them by the media and the voracious public, a situation that has only worsened with the advent and explosive growth of social media.

The teaser is an absolute tease.
Shot on the set of Insatiable Season 2, now streaming on Netflix, it shows an elegant lady coming in, prompting two apparently gay staff to gasp in astonishment, “Who is she?” The lady introduces herself, “I am Gloria Reyes. Miss Philippines…Miss Universe!”
With that, Gloria Diaz as Gloria Reyes cements her “special participation” in the Netflix Original dark comedy about a girl named Patty (played by Debby Ryan) who’s bullied because she’s overweight, ignored and underestimated by people around her…until she shaped up and, in a sweet revenge, competes in a beauty pageant, thanks to the encouragement of a disgraced lawyer (played by Dallas Roberts).
The trio at the Manila House where Gloria’s daughter Isabelle ‘Belle’ Daza-Semblat hosted a bienvenida for the visiting actors, Debby in Patty Ang dress and Dallas in a Randy Ortiz charcoal-gray barong.
“I play not a judge but something like an adviser to Debby’s character,” Gloria told The STAR the other day during the promo for Insatiable graced by Debby and Dallas who came purposely for that. “My advice to Patty: No matter what your past is, no matter how you do it and where you come from, as long as you win, people will forget your past. Ganoon naman talaga sa mga pageant, di ba?”
How much did Gloria draw from her Miss U experience in fleshing out her role?
“Not that much, really,” she said, adding, “but I felt like a neophyte. Good thing Belle (her daughter Isabelle Daza-Semblat) was there coaching me, ‘Mom, you can do it; you’ve been doing it 100 times.’ I said, ‘Belle, I don’t know why but I am nervous. I might make a mistake.’ Belle said, ‘Don’t worry, don’t worry!’ So unlike here. When you work in your own turf, it feels different. Parang okey lang, happy-happy na.”
Debby and Dallas, and all those involved in the project, made Gloria feel at home.
“You will be surprised but Debby and Dallas look normal, they are not intense. They are very, very good. Still, you are working in a strange place, out of your comfort zone. All of a sudden, you are around people who don’t know you from Eve and whom you don’t know from Adam. The more they tried to make me feel at home, the more pressured I was.”
Happily, there was no, well, “breaking the ice.” Gloria noted that everybody was so professional and so welcoming.
“But you really have to be on your own, you just have to hold your own. You can pray all you want but at the end of the day, you’re just the one facing the camera. There was no room to make a mistake.”
Gloria went to Georgia (USA) to shoot initially for two days and went back to shoot more scenes.
She was busy with the ABS-CBN soap Los Bastardos when the offer came. Why her and not the Philippines’ three other Miss U titlists?
“I have no idea,” said Gloria who was 18 when she won in 1969. “They Vibered the offer to me. I guess they just have to get a beauty queen who has been around and, of course, who has experience with showbiz. My first reaction was, ‘Oh my God, I hope ABS-CBN will allow me.’ You know naman how strict ABS-CBN is. They won’t allow you to be absent. But they were okay and I was very happy.”
Monday night, Belle hosted a bienvenida dinner for Debby and Dallas at Manila House with Belle and Gloria’s special friends as other guests. Debby wore a gorgeous outfit designed by Patty Ang and Dallas, a charcoal gray piña barong by Randy Ortiz.
Asked to sum up her Insatiable experience, Gloria said, “Hmmm, very nice. I’m happy that I have so much experience locally and that helped. The bottom line is, it was all about lakasan ng loob, kapalan ng mukha.” And then she laughed.
Incidentally, the 2019 Miss Universe pageant is just around the corner (although no venue has been announced yet), so is a back-to-back win (between reigning Miss U Catriona Gray and the country’s bet Gazini Ganados) probable, a feat pulled so far by only one country (Venezuela, Dayana Mendoza/2008 and Stefania Fernandez/2009)?
“Let me think,” said Gloria who was a judge at the Bb. Pilipinas pageant topped by Gazini. “I will have to look hard at our candidate because, you know, nagbabago sila at nag-i-improve after the pageant. Yes, Gazini was my choice. I really like her. But you know, we are too ambitious. After Pia (Wurtzbach) and Catriona, we want more, we want something else.”
So what does she think is Gazini’s chance?
“50/50. Beauty contests are a rat race. Either you win or you lose. So, 50/50.”
And her (unsolicited) advice to Gazini?
“Like me in Netflix, lakasan ng loob at pakapalan ng mukha. Feel that you are a winner and make sure nobody gets in front of you…and make lots of friends.”

He was specifically pertaining to the moment when he frankly told the Yllana brothers that their question to the complainant was out of stupidity.
Raffy also took a swipe at the previous statement of the prominent brothers about having good manners, and he bravely raised arguments against the accused.

Veteran actress Amalia Fuentes passed away on Saturday morning.
The news was confirmed by her nephew, actor Niño Muhlach, in a Facebook post.

Actor and songwriter James Reid shocked the public when he left Viva Artists Agency after seven years to become a freelancer. James, the first Filipino endorser of international timepiece brand Armitron, explained that he wanted to have more freedom as an artist.
But, despite him leaving the talent agency, he assured his fans that this independence won’t affect his relationship with Nadine Lustre who is still under Viva’s management.
“It hasn’t been affected at all right now. We’re still working together. We’re all on good terms, which is great. I just have a bit more freedom now, that’s all.”
But is there another reason James left Viva? There are speculations that James has plans of moving to GMA Network.
In an interview by Philstar.com, the actor denied that he is planning to be a Kapuso.
“No, it’s not,” he said smiling.
But why didn’t he renew his contract with Viva?
“I just didn’t renew. You know, I’m focusing on other things now,” he said.
Actually, James and Nadine Lustre had worked together on the Philippine TV variety show, Party Pilipinas under GMA Network.
His first break was when he entered the Pinoy Big Brother house and won as the big winner of Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash of 2010.
For now, James chooses to focus on his music career and on his own music label Careless Music Manila.
“I’m focusing on my music label right now. I wanna give it a chance, I wanna see how far I can go with my music and I have big plans for it.”
Along with him is his much supportive girlfriend, Nadine, who even directed some of the music videos for Careless Music Manila.
Choosing this new path, James admitted he has a few apprehensions. “It’s great but it’s also scary,”
He’s not giving up acting either.
“I’m just waiting for the right project.”

Vhong Navarro and the other hosts of the noontime show “It’s Showtime” once again poked fun at a throwback picture of Vice Ganda.
KAMI learned that this hilarious moment among the hosts transpired during the recent episode of the said noontime program on the Kapamilya network.
The funny incident began when Ion Perez revealed that he recently served as one of the judges in a beauty pageant in Albay.
He was also asked by the other celebrities on the program if he was already able to see the “Unkabogable Star” wearing a swimsuit.
Vhong then started browsing his phone again and he eventually showed to the public an old photo of Vice where he was not wearing a shirt.
The picture was reportedly taken before the former “Praybeyt Benjamin” star rose to fame in the entertainment industry.
“Ako nakita ko rin siyang naka-swimsuit!” Vhong quipped.
“Personal natin yan… Pakitaan? Talaga ba? Yung mga tinatago pinapakita ha. Personal yan eh!” Vice responded.

According to the producer of “Culion,” John Lloyd will be portraying an important role in the film that is set in 1940s, which is about the lives of three women with Hansen's disease.
