Genaro Diego ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit ng Quezon City Police District (CIDU-QCPD), ang insidente ay naganap dakong alas-8:45 ng gabi sa loob ng Flying House Resto Bar na matatagpuan sa No. 10-B Malingap St., Brgy. Teachers Village West, Quezon City.
Noong May 12, 2019, nag-post sa Instagram si JM at mariing itinanggi ang paratang laban sa kanya.
Nakalagay sa post niya na, “Who’s hiding?” na may kasamang hashtags na #solidevidence #youregonnagetit #CCTV #wearepeacefulharmlesshumanbeings.
JM DE GUZMAN STATEMENT
Hiningan ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ng pahayag ang Star Magic, ang namamahala sa karera ng aktor, tungkol sa isyu.
Ngayong araw ng Sabado, September 21, nagpadala ang Star Magic ng statement galing sa legal counsel ng aktor na sina Atty. Louie Aseoche at Atty. Juan Paolo Tumbali.
Ayon sa statement, ang frustrated murder complaint ay "rehash" ng naunang physical injuries complaint na inihabla sa Office of the City Prosecutor ng Quezon City at inurong noong nakaraang August 8, 2019.
Narito ang kabuuang statement ni JM, na ipinadala ng kanyang mga abugado sa PEP.ph (published as is):
"On behalf of JM de Guzman, we would like to inform everyone that there are reports circulating that a certain Pitt Norman Zafra has recently filed a complaint for 'Frustrated Murder' against JM and another individual at the Office of the City Prosecutor in Quezon City.
"The Complaint-Affidavit of Mr. Zafra is actually a rehash of a previous complaint he filed for 'Physical Injuries' which he withdrew before the City Prosecutor Office in Quezon City on August 8, 2019.
"JM is surprised why Mr. Zafra would now want him to answer for a more serious charge under the same set of factual circumstances as the complaint that he withdrew last month.
"We believe that the proper venue where facts can be distiled from fiction would be before the Investigating Prosecutor in Quezon City, not in media.
"Since Mr. Zafra had already filed his complaint, it is most unfair of Mr. Zafra to preempt the proceedings by spreading negative publicity against JM when the Investigating Prosecutor of Quezon City still has to conduct a preliminary investigation on the charges.
"We are confident that JM has the necessary evidence, both testimonial and electronic, to prove his innocence.
"JM will most certainly file counter charges against Mr. Zafra."

Loonie and 4 others are arrested in Barangay Poblacion, Makati
MANILA, Philippines – Rapper Loonie and 4 others were arrested on Wednesday, September 18, by the Makati police in a buy-bust operation at a hotel in Poblacion, Makati.
Police identified the 4 other suspects as David Rizon, Ivan Agustin, Albert Alvarez, and Idyll Liza Peroramas, Loonie's younger sister.
According to Makati police chief Senior Superintendent Rogelio Simon, the transaction happened at the basement of a hotel located along Polaris St. in Barangay Poblacion, Makati at 8:45 pm.
The rapper and his companions reportedly handed the box containing 15 sachets of high-grade marijuana worth P100,000.
After handing the marked money to undercover police, cops went out and nabbed them.
