Megan Young wins Miss World 2013

Philippines’ bet Megan Young becomes the "most beautiful woman in the world" as she wins the Miss World 2013 title during the pageant's coronation night on September 28 (Saturday) in Bogor, Indonesia.

This year’s highly controversial pageant just made history after it installed the first-ever Filipina to win the coveted blue crown—bringing virtual chills and cheers online and in the rest of the Philippines, the country that she perfectly represented in what has been dubbed as "the oldest surviving beauty pageant in the world."

The 23-year-old Filipino-American actress and TV host presented the aura of a Miss World-in-the-making. Ultimately, Megan's winning answer to the question on why she should win Miss World, "Miss World for me treasures the core value of humanity and that guides her into understanding people, why they act the way that they do, how they're living their lives and I will use these core values in my understanding not only in helping others but to show other people how they can understand others, to help others so that as one, together, we shall help society," won over the answers of Miss Ghana Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter who placed third in the competition and Miss France Marine Lorphelin who placed second.

Fearless forecast becomes reality

The Miss World organizers have placed Megan in three of the five challenge events (formerly called fast track): first in the Top Model category, fourth in the Multimedia category, and fifth among the 11 finalists in the Beach Fashion Final.

While they no longer give the challenge events winners a sure spot in the final round, the winners have been awarded bonus points to their preliminary scores.

Years in the making

Megan Young goes down in history as the first-ever Filipina to win Miss World—breaking a popular urban legend that no Filipina will ever win the title.

Despite the Philippines' successful finish in Miss Universe and other international beauty tilts, the Miss World crown has been elusive until 62 years later. (Miss World was reportedly founded in 1951)

In 2011, the Philippines almost won the title when Gwendoline Ruais placed second to Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela. In 2012, Queneerich Rehman made it to the Top 15 while in 1993, Sharmaine "Ruffa" Gutierrez placed 2nd runner-up to Lisa Hanna of Jamaica.

Kae Davantes, nagmakaawa sa kaniyang buhay, ayon sa suspek

Inamin ng nadakip na suspek sa karumal-dumal na pagpatay sa advertising executive na si Kristelle "Kae" Davantes na sinaksak niya ito sa katawan at leeg nang makitang humihinga pa matapos nilang sakalin gamit ang seat belt.

Iprinisenta sa media ng National Bureau Investigation (NBI) nitong Biyernes ng gabi ang nadakip na suspek na si Samuel Decimo, 19-anyos, residente ng Molino, Cavite.

Angel Locsin echoes Marian Rivera’s dismay over constant comparisons

Despite incessant comparisons by their respective fans over the years, Toda Max star Angel Locsin maintained that she and Marian Rivera are on good terms. However, she admitted that there was a time that she and Marian were a little aloof around each other.

Jake Vargas Admits Nude Photo Scandal

Jake Vargas admitted he was the one in the photo scandal that spread on the Internet. There, he was seen without a shirt on. He was also with a girl.

He wasn't able to clarify the existence of this photo before.

Jake said he wasn't a celebrity yet during that time. Back then, he and his friends were in a house having a party. They were drunk and the room was so hot, so he decided to take his shirt off.

He didn't, however, explain who the girl was. Jake said he didn't mind the allegations being thrown at him with regards to the photo because it was really nothing to him.

Now that he is a celebrity, Jake knows how to take care of his image and also, how to be a good role model to his fans.

Janelle Manahan Is Determined To Seek Justice For Ramgen Revilla

Despite having a new page in her book now, Janelle Manahan is still bent on seeking justice for the killing of her then boyfriend Ramgen Revilla, the half-brother of Senator Bong Revilla.

Her legal counsel, Atty. Argee Guevarra, said Manahan's new business and relationship (DM Sevilla) didn't affect her resolve to seek justice for her slain boyfriend. Manahan is considered the primary witness in the Revilla case. She, too, was a victim of attempted murder.

Guevarra said their camp believed they have a strong case against Ramona Revilla, Ramgen's sister and one of the suspects in the killing. She has since left the country to be with her Turkish husband.

The lawyer revealed Manahan and other key witnesses already submitted their documentary and testimonial evidences--Manahan's witness account, sworn statement of Ronald Ancajas, Ramgen's personal assistant, and Ruel Puzon, who was asked and then failed to kill Ramgen on the first try.

For now, their camp is just waiting for the hearing dates and the response from the defense.

Justice sought for slain 25-year-old account executive

Family and friends are seeking justice for Kristelle "Kae" Davantes, an advertising executive reportedly abducted in Bonifacio Global City Taguig and later found dead in Cavite.

On social networking site Facebook, the page "Justice for KAE" has been created by the victim's family and friends. "Families and friends, let's all unite. We will not stop until we find justice. #justiceforkae," according to the page.

Melai confirms she’s pregnant

Yes, she’s pregnant.

Melai Cantiveros and boyfriend Jason Francisco themselves confirmed this in an interview on “The Buzz” on Sunday, September 8. 

“Positive na positive. Two lines. Over-over. Sobrang pagkahappy ko talaga Tito Boy (Abunda). Hindi ako kinabahan kasi gusto talaga namin ni Jason. Noong nagkabalikan kami, gusto talaga namin i-level up yung relationship namin,” Melai said.

Showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz was the first to break the news about the pregnancy in his blog two weeks ago.

Both their families are happy for Melai’s pregnancy. The couple shared that they plan to get married once everything is settled.

“(Sabi ni Mama) Okay sa akin basta papuntahin mo si Jason dito at kailangan makasal kayo sa madaling panahon,” Melai said.

She shared that she was touched when Jason asked her hand for marriage.

Wally Bayola Taking A Break From ‘Eat Bulaga’ Amid Sex Tape Scandal

Wally Bayola is taking a break from his popular television program Eat Bulaga after a sex scandal involving his co-star.

The popular Filipino comedian was featured in a sex tape allegedly showing him with co-star Yoshika “Yosh” Rivera. The video has created an uproar in the Philippines and threatens to sink Bayola’s career. 

As the scandal heats up, it appears Wally Bayola is trying to avoid the spotlight for a bit. He will be taking an indefinite leave from Eat Bulaga, said Malou Choa-Fagar, the comedian’s business manager.

The show’s executive have denied that Bayola is off the show for good, however.

“Not true,” Malou Fagar, executive producer of Eat Bulaga, told the Philippine Daily Inquirer after reports that Bayola had been fired.

MANILA, Philippines—The rumor mill is heating up again after a sex video allegedly involving comedian Wally Bayola and sexy dancer EB Babe Yosh makes the rounds on the web. 

The 6:14-minute video clip shows a couple, who look like Wally and  EB Babe Yosh, enganged in a steamy sex. 

Wally,41, is a host at popular noontime variety show Eat Bulaga aired Monday through Saturday on GMA-7 television. 

He has five children.

EB Babe Yosh, meanwhile, is a member of Eat Bulaga’s in-house sexy dance group EB Babes. 

The couple on the sex video, towards the end of the clip, looked at the camera and smiled. The guy then gave the girl a peck on the lips.
